Richard Dawkin's idea of memes, self replicating units of knowledge that have DNA-like abilities is one of the most fascinating cognitive philosophic ideas possibly ever articulated  Essentially all information are memes. Why are memes important? Because of them we are on the fast track to becoming Gods.
